Tom and his team have just finished installing a media wall and complementary cabinets and shelving on the opposite walls. The result is stunning and has exceeded our expectations. Prior to this he designed and fitted our wardrobes and is in the process of fitting further wardrobes and various units. He offers a truly bespoke service and never seems daunted by unusual or difficult designs, always relishing and rising to the challenge, bringing style and flair to the finished product. The attention to detail and range of materials is breathtaking and we are in awe of the workmanship which goes into making such beautiful pieces of furniture. Tom ensured that we were involved in the design process and offered flexibility over price and changes to the specification. The skills of Edward and Jason in making and fitting our units are exemplary. They plan for minimum disruption during the fitting process and work to exacting and meticulous standards. We feel very fortunate to have found such an exceptional company who show commitment and customer service in every aspect of their work. I have recently renovated my dining/living room in which I needed a bespoke media unit to house TV, electric fire and HiFi including turntable and speakers. I contacted Tom about this and he quickly and efficiently produced a design to meet these requirements and after visiting him at his factory I choose the materials to be used to produce the media unit. Tom came to my home and took the exact measurement for finalising the design and made a few changes to original design which ensured I got a good acoustic performance from my HiFi system, in particular the speakers. Tom made an excellent recommendation for electric fire which tied in perfectly with the size of the TV and made a few suggestions for sympathetic lighting of the media unit. The media unit was built in Tom’s workshop to a very high standard and his team if carpenters installed the unit into the dining/living in a very professional and careful manner. Their workmanship was first class and they took a great deal of care in protecting both my flooring a decoration, they took so much care, that no touch up was required to dinning/living rooms. Tom’s carpenters liaised with the electrician to ensure the electrical works were undertaken and fully tested out the media unit and took me through how the various items had be configured such as the lighting and electric fire etc. I am extremely pleased with the media unit which his one of the main features of my dinning/living room, I wouldn’t hesitate in using Tom and his team in the future, and I can certainly recommend them for producing high quality media centres and furniture.

The whole team are great to work with, all our ideas were listened to and we enjoyed being part of the design process. We’ve commissioned three pieces of work with Tom Maxwell now and are extremely happy with each of them. Tom was very patient and accommodating through the design and re-design phases, and we developed a great working relationship which meant we got to an end result we were delighted with. Tom and his team created a media wall for our lounge. From the design stage through to the build we have been really impressed by the outstanding professionalism and quality, both of the workmanship and materials selected. Tom and Stonehouse Fireplaces worked closely together to ensure the selected fire integrated beautifully into the wall. It was a pleasure doing business with both and we would 100% recommend them for further work.

We needed to change the layout of one side of our kitchen but were happy with the other three sides which had good quality units. Unfortunately these were no longer in production so we gave Tom the challenge of producing the new units to match the existing ones as closely as possible. He did a brilliant job. Friends and family have also been most impressed by the results. The quality of the work and attention to detail was superb. Both Tom and Ed, his workshop manager, are perfectionists. Ed, who did the installation, clearly has a passion for his work and enjoyed the challenge. He and his assistants were incredibly hard working, considerate and a pleasure to have in our home. Tom also has contacts he can call in for other skills as needed and at short notice if unexpected problems arise. Those involved with our project also did excellent work. Though the price might seem a little high it was not vastly more than the good quality ready made units we had looked at but which wouldn’t have matched. The extra was well worth the cost, having the advantage of making maximum use of the available space with individually made units. We highly recommend the company, especially for any non-standard work.
