MEP Carpentry

We searched for months to find a Carpenter who fitted the bill for our refurbishment project , at times we felt that we'd never find a true professional that was eager to make a substantial contribution and help us achieve what we had planned. We came across Marc in May 2026 and contacted him via text. Marc responded within the hour and arranged to come and see us the next day. Our initial meeting with Marc was an absolute revelation !!!. Marc understood exactly what we were trying to achieve from the outset. He was completely switched on to our requirements and immediately came up with practical improvements we'd not even considered. Marc as a Carpenter is highly skilled and works to exacting standards that exceed any that we've ever come across before. If he's not happy with something he will go the extra mile (and more if he has to) to ensure that he has presented his workmanship in such a manner that in our opinion is beyond what we ever expected. This refurbishment has at times been a complete nightmare to the extent we have even questioned our own layman design ideas. Marc ultimately turned what we thought as possibly turning into a "pigs ear" project into something that we now look at in complete awe, a place that we know we will love living in. Some of the things we wanted were slightly "off the wall" and not normal requests such as "hidden" cupboard doors that could be finished in the same wall covering as the main walls so effectively they were far less visible. We had tried to explain this requirement to other Carpenters who advised us of the drawbacks of not having architrave (plaster cracking) and making something like a huge door "hidden" was not a straight forward job and might not ultimately work. When we put this idea to Marc all he could come up with was positives and solutions and a system that would work. In addition Marc suggested skirting board at the bottom of the "hidden cupboards" so as to enhance the overall look, these would simply clip out so as any heavy appliances could be wheeled into the cupboard with ease - EUREKA !. Marc's attention to detail is amazing. On our newly fitted LVT floor the edge of each tread incorporates an edging that protrudes slightly so as the skirting around the riser would have had a gap..................Marc cut each individual piece of skirting to incorporate this so the finished product looks superb, note from the pictures there were many. In addition to his amazing Carpentry skills Marc has also gained a great knowledge of many aspects of the Construction Industry in his previous roles. He's like a "sponge" that takes in everything and incorporates it in to a "what if " scenario on a whole project. To explain it better its like when you ask him a question re an aspect of Carpentry he also tells you and explains what should happen before and after that aspect of the Carpentry process and whether it can be achieved, if it cant he has the knowledge to re start the process so as the Carpentry requirement is fulfilled. Many would say this is a "jack of all trades", however in Marc's case he is knowledgeable and has the skills of these other aspects of the Construction Industry that he has picked up over the years. And do not think that when he undertakes these other works that are not given the same meticulous treatment as his brilliant Carpentry skills because they are. Marc is punctual, always arrives when stated and delivers way beyond what is expected. He's a pleasure to have in your home and in our case we actually missed him when he completed his part of the project !. Marc, thank you so much, it was a real pleasure to meet you and let you take control of our project which was screaming out for your expertise and guidance.

I can't recommend MEP Carpentry highly enough. From the very beginning, Marc has been professional, reliable, and a pleasure to have working in the house. He has completely transformed our home,from what felt like a building site to somewhere that finally feels homely and welcoming. Marc has fitted flooring, skirting boards, architraves, a cupboard and shelving, and every job has been completed with exceptional attention to detail. The quality of his workmanship is outstanding. He's also been incredibly respectful of our home, leaving everything clean and tidy at the end of each day, communicating clearly throughout, and offering thoughtful advice whenever we were unsure about the best option. Had mep carpentry build our house from scratch up in north scotland before hia family moved south. Marc was involved from inital kit timber frame construction threw to internal fit out. He built the kit, helped me rubber the roof. Fitted larch sarking to outside framed all partitions, installed interal bespoke cupboards in bedrooms from scratch, hung all doors and oak facings. Installed our wren kitchen, tiled the bathrooms for us after our plumber let us down. Couldnt of had a better or more knowledgable man on site. Everything he did was to perfection. He became a good friend to our family threwout our build. Couldnt recommend enough. Wish him all the best down south!
