We contacted this company for a quotation. We were asked for our location, which we provided. We were then told that, based on the location, we would “probably not be able to afford them.” No quotation. No discussion about our requirements. No opportunity for us to decide whether the price was within our budget. Just a completely unsolicited financial assessment based on our postcode. Very efficient service — apparently they can now see your bank balance through Google Maps. If this was intended to be a clever way of filtering out customers, it certainly worked. You’ve filtered us out — and, more importantly, you’ve made sure we won’t be recommending you to anyone else. There’s nothing wrong with having premium prices. There is, however, something very wrong with assuming someone cannot afford your services before you’ve even given them a price. We contacted you looking for a quotation and left with a lesson in how not to speak to potential customers. Thankfully, there are plenty of businesses that understand the simple concept of: give the customer the price and let the customer decide. We consulted several specialists for our local Birmingham beauty salon to get ready for the important opening event. After discussing the various shopfitting and M&E requirements with over 14 different “experts” over a period of 4 weeks, which was very time consuming and exhausting, my husband introduced me to RRJ joinery for the joinery elements of our shopfit. RRJ came in for just one day and they handled their tasks just like clockwork. The energy and confident expert knowledge, eye for detail and quality of work was just simply amazing. As I explained my ordeal with the M&E experts in a chat with Rafael from RRJ, he offered to have a quick look at the plumbing and electrical services as they were ahead of schedule. They then carried out the work floorless in the “spare time” they had. I was flabbergasted as we had separate quotations in from individual specialist contractors that struggled with the scope and estimated thousands of pounds plus long lead times that would have pushed us beyond the planned opening day. RRJ Design did an excellent job building us a replica replacement porch for our Edwardian house. They had good attention to detail and the finished article looked perfect.
I didn't think I would find someone to do the joinery work to repair a wooden bay window, they replied to my enquiry and completed the work very quickly. Very happy with it - all ready for painting! Thank you.

As part of a full renovation project, I needed a rather large glazed replacement door for a Victorian vestibule. After having nearly given up on finding a proper joiner, capable of building said door, I came across RRJ's Google profile which looked promising. Turns out, he can definitely build beautiful doors. Rafael and Chris are extremely polite, personable and professional and it has been a pleasure working with them. They quickly and completely understood what I wanted, gave some good advice and also helped me find beautiful door furniture and replacement glass for the entire vestibule. I am extremely happy with my new door, the level of quality and attention to detail. I would highly recommend RRJ for any project and will definitely be back for more beautiful joinery in the future.
These guys did a great job fixing and altering a vintage cabinet I bought. The glass panel had completely crackes and needed replacing and the back needed to be made flush with the top to be able to hang it on the wall. Work was flawless and it was reasonably priced. Would highly recommend.
