John did a beautiful job building a built in oak dining bench with storage as well as a bespoke table with oak pedestal legs and a fenix top. Our awkward, tiny dining space is now the best bit of our house! We could not be happier with the quality of his work. So much so we asked him back to build a fitted oak media unit, floating shelf and backrests for the dining bench. John has been reliable, creative and flexible as our plans evolved.

I got in touch with John as I needed some doors adjusted and put back on in our new flat. He was very quick to respond and did a great job. Highly recommend and won’t hesitate to use him again ☺️

John James did such a fantastic job fixing our dining room table at short notice, after it wouldn't fit up the stairs in our new flat. He was friendly, knowledgeable and completed the job to an extremely high standard. We're so pleased to have found him - he's clearly brilliant at what he does and takes a real enjoyment in it.

Have used John James Joinery for a number of jobs now - building a bespoke outdoor bench and storage (see pictures), hanging new doors, fixing a botched flooring & quadrant job - and every job has been top notch. John will initially consult on the project and offer various designs to select from to fit what you’re looking for, and communication is great. He’ll also advise on the best materials and styles for your budget, with knowledge and experience working on a huge range of projects, always ensuring a quality finish. One thing that has stood out on every job is the ability to problem solve and find solutions to any nuances the project might throw at you, which is usually the part I fall flat on trying to do things myself! Would highly recommend to anyone needing work done.

Excellent service. I called John after a couple of larger joiners had suggested I needed a fire door replacing. John said it would be a waste of a door, and worked with the wood to make the door compliant, thereby saving me a lot of money and the planet some wood! Friendly and reliable. I will use him again!

John restored our Victorian sash windows which were in complete disrepair. He did an excellent job. John set out a clear vision and schedule for the work which he delivered as promised. His knowledge and expertise were clear which left us feeling reassured knowing the work was in safe hands. His communication throughout was excellent - we knew exactly what he was doing and why each day. On top of that, he is an extremely friendly guy who loves his trade. We wouldn’t hesitate to have John back.
